Hexham Army Cadet chosen for Foreign Battlefield Tour
Cadet Sean Benstead from Hexham Army Cadets has been selected as one of only 18 cadets nationally to travel to Spain and Morocco in July 2012. This trip will allow the cadets to visit important battlefield sites that have involved the British Army.
He will be expected to research a particular battle and provide information to the rest of the cadets when they are touring these sites. The choice of battle will be linked to the Hexham's affiliated regiment-The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers.
These visits are especially important in ensuring that today's younger generation do not lose sight of what our ancestors sacrificed in the past.
We'd like to hear from you. Send your stories, pics and videos to northumberland@ncjmedia.co.uk
