Hexham Priory pupils help create art for new school
Youngsters have been helping to create spectacular artwork to spruce up their school.
Two North East artists worked for nine months with more than 50 pupils from Hexham Priory School in Northumberland to add a touch of colour to a new school building.

Hexham Priory pupil David Cowans with artist Carl
Hexham-based artist 'Carl' and Newcastle-based glass artist Gavin Marshall said the "phoenix" theme of the work symbolises the school's rebirth.
The artwork will adorn the new Hexham Priory School which is being built alongside the old school location - like a phoenix rising up from the ashes.
The culmination of the artwork, dubbed The Phoenix Project, will include a 5ft plaster egg and a selection of textile birds. And the school's reception area will house a huge fabric-made phoenix created with recycled materials donated by Oxfam.
Sue Reed, class eight teacher at Hexham Priory School, said: "Creativity is an important part of the school curriculum, offering pupils a way to express themselves and develop new skills and interests.
"The Phoenix Project, has helped to give access to inspirational activities, and has given students skills and interests that they can take into adult life."
