For the first time ever Hexham had two of their teams competing against each other in a Cup Final. The occasion was the under 15 NFA West Division final due for Wednesday 31st March.
This year has always been a strong group of players and the club has been able to field two teams ever since they were under 8. Over the years both sides have done well of the years in the Tynedale, Coast Colts and NABC Leagues. But for the first time ever they were due to meet in the final however the torrential rain that fell on the Tyne Valley put paid to the match.
The game will be rearranged for later in the season when hopefully spring has brought some better weather. This has been a horrendous season for weather with all the teams having to play catch up on games and by the look of the pitch any games scheduled over the next few days have a damp outlook.

He has been charged with causing death while unlicensed, causing death while uninsured and driving an overweight vehicle.
Police are appealing for witnesses following a break-in at a Chinese takeaway.
A man broke into the Silver Palace Chinese Takeaway, Market Street, Hexham, at around 10.50am last Friday, searched the property then fled empty-handed.
The man is described as being white, in his late 30s, tall and with a slim build, having a receding hair line and was wearing a green high-visibility jacket and brown trousers.

This year's Champion of Champions judge at Northumberland County Show will be Matt Robinson, who recently retired as the chief steward of the event's agricultural horse section.
Mr Robinson, who farms at Humshaugh, has been a show committee member for more than quarter of a century and is a major force in the heavy horse showing world.

His Clydesdales, kept as a hobby separate from the Holstein cattle and Blue Faced Leicester sheep on his farm, once won 13 championships in 13 shows in the same year.
Store cattle: There were 617 store cattle and suckled calves forward.
Hexham 2 Wallsend Town 1
Hexham FC have been unbeatable at home at the Wentworth this season, having developed a habit of grinding out positive results from tough games. This week it was the turn of Wallsend to visit Hexham's impregnable fortress, and considering their impressive record of having only been beaten twice on the road, they were likely to threaten the unbeaten home streak.
As might be expected of a game between two teams placed 5th and 6th in the league respectively, the game started competitively on a pitch that bore the signs of a long seasons worth of use.
The Emirates stadium this was not. It was Hexham who seized the initiative midway through the first-half when a hopeful long-ball caused havoc amongst the Wallsend backline. Hexham's Jamie McNamee found himself through on goal and ended up colliding with Wallsend's heavy-set goalie, the ball rebounding neatly to Darren Dobson who calmly slotted home from 18-yards out. At the other end for Hexham, Michael Robson was putting in a lights-out performance at full back, stifling any opposition attack.
Blyth Town 1 Hexham Under 14 Girls 4
Hexham Girls put in a fine performance on Saturday against Blyth Town and came out eventual 4 - 1 winners. Hexham were on top from start to finish, playing good passing football and sensibly keeping the ball on the floor to avoid the howling gale that was blowing across the pitch.
Hexham went three goals up in the first half with two goals from Layla Zahawi and a further goal from Rhiannon Castle. The defence of Enya Mason, Sophie Scott, Bex Knight and Ellie Harris stopped everything that was thrown at them and played very well as a unit. Despite taking a heavy knock in last week's game, keeper Hope Lowdon continued her excellent form that has stood her in good stead throughout the season.
Wingers Anneka Forsyth and Georgina Callf were both making good ground down the flanks and were picking out the strong forward runs by central mid-fielders, Kelly Loughhead and Rhiannon Castle.
Richard Hannam has shared this picture of the Hexham's distinctive skyline, showing the Old Gaol and the Moot Hall among the rooftops.
