Agricultural business advice on offer in Hexham
Businesses in Northumberland can get free financial help to stay ahead of the game.
To celebrate 25 years in practice, Hexham-based accountant Patricia Arnold is organising a series of free financial seminars entitled "Finding the Silver Lining".
They are designed to help local businesses stay ahead of the game in difficult times and the ever-changing tax legislation.
The first free seminar aimed at agricultural businesses will be held on Thursday, February 25, in conjunction with Hexham & Northern Marts.
Patricia said: "People often miss out on opportunities simply through a lack of forward planning and not being aware of how current legislation can benefit them. The 'Finding the Silver Lining' seminars aim to address this.
"We have been doing this for 25 years and while every person has to be looked at individually, we hope that by passing on our knowledge we will help people see how they can make savings or harness tax credits to help offset investment costs.
"Recently for example, through our understanding of tax credits, we helped one farmer parcel up his tax breaks to reimburse the complete cost of buying a new tractor."
The seminars will be in conjunction with specialists in their field including financial commentator Justin Urquart Stewart, solicitors Gibson & Co, Nicholson Portnell Solicitors, Hexham & Northern Rural and George F. White.
They include looking at taxation relating to agricultural businesses, the world of investment, aimed at high net worth individuals and a seminar under the Schools Initiative helping youngsters manage their money as they start out in life.
