Swap a toy for free treatment at chiropractors
A business in Hexham will be manipulating customers to give them gifts - all in the name of charity.
Family Chiropractic will be offering free treatments to raise money for the Salvation Army's Christmas Present Appeal.
As part of their Toys for Adjustment week, Family Chiropractic's Dr Belinda Ambrose will be enthusiastically carrying out adjustments on her patients in return for a donation of a toy that will go to needy children.
Dr Ambrose said: "We put up posters in the Family Chiropractic a week or so ago, and are delighted that our patients have already shown great generosity and started supporting the Appeal by bringing in toys as donations. The collection box in our reception is filling up nicely. I can adjust about 22 patients on the day, so we know that Family Chiropractic will be able to pass on a good number of gifts to the Appeal.
"The current economic situation means more people may find it difficult to celebrate Christmas this year.
"So we hope our Tynedale patients continue to help us collect gifts to pass on to those in need in our community, so that Christmas will be special for everyone."
The Toys for Adjustment day takes place on Wednesday, December 9, and the toys, for children up to the age of 16, will be distributed in the local area through the Salvation Army's own networks, health visitors and social services.
