Firework display in Hexham

Posted by The Journal on Nov 4, 09 01:42 PM in What’s On

Firework displayAn organised firework display will take place in Hexham this Saturday.

The free event, organised by Hexham Round Table, is at the Sele behind Hexham Abbey, with the lighting of the bonfire around 6.30pm and the fireworks beginning at 7pm (timings dependent on the weather)..

Entertainment will include a night flight kite display by Stanegate Flyers beforehand, along with music by the Sunshine Panners of Haydon Bridge on the Park Bandstand and samba drummers from the Queen Elizabeth High School.

Overflow car parking will be at Hexham Auction Mart and Tyne Green. People are recommended to arrive early to avoid congestion and possible disappointment.

Food and refreshments will be available from stalls operated on the Sele by local charities.

It is asked that those attending don't bring sparklers for safety reasons.

Remember when attending a fireworks display always be careful. Follow instructions given by the organisers, stay well back from fireworks and bonfires, dress warmly and keep children under close supervision.
