Hexham to host Beef Expo
Hexham has been announced as the location for next year's Beef Expo event.
The National Beef Association (NBA) organised event, which takes place at a different venue each year, will be staged at the town's mart on May 27.
Thousands of beef producers from around the UK and overseas are expected to attend the expo, which serves as the industry's major technical event and will include beef breed demonstrations, educational and advisory exhibits, practical demonstrations of livestock machinery, a comprehensive seminar programme plus trade stands and competitions.
It will be hosted by Scott Donaldson, pictured, an NBA Northern council member and auctioneer with Hexham and Northern Marts.
He said: "We are delighted to be hosting Beef Expo at Hexham Mart and look forward to welcoming beef producers from all over the country ."
Mr Donaldson is also chair of the local organising committee, which is being put together to plan the event.
Expo organiser Euan Emslie said: "Hexham is an ideal location in the heart of a major suckler beef producing area which can be easily accessed from both north and south.
"The facilities at Hexham Mart are first-class and will provide an excellent venue for such a major event for the beef industry."
This year's Beef Expo was staged in Malvern, Worcester.
