Percy Main come unstuck at Tynedale
Starting the day as joint leaders in the Wellstream Northumberland & Tyneside Senior League, Percy Main came unstuck at Tynedale where they went down to an 83-run defeat.
Swalwell dominated their match at Ashington to record an 84-run win and the champions are now clear at the top.
A sensational last-ball win kept Shotley Bridge's title hopes alive.
Bridge found the Ryton trio of Mark Cawthorn (4-36), Jonny O'Neill (3-21) and Ian Reid (3-40) almost too hot to handle and if it hadn't been for Phil Carlin (46no) holding the Bridge innings together, their eventual 126 would have looked a lot sicker.
But Ryton found batting just as tough as Phil Brown (4-35) and Aman Dhindsa (4-25) kept them pinned down for long periods.
When the last ball arrived Ryton needed three to win and two to tie. O'Neill went for glory and was caught on the deep mid-wicket boundary to hand Bridge a nerve shredding two-run victory.
It was a dad and lad job at Benwell and Walbottle where Lintz relieved a bit of the pressure that had been building on them as they hammered their hosts by 153 runs to move out of the relegation placings.
Andy Smith (74) was in top form for Lintz, but 16-year-old Jordan Clennell showed all his potential with an outstanding half-century.
And even though Kamran Mansoor picked up 4-44, the visitors were able to log a challenging 214-8. It was then that dad Graeme Clennell showed that the old spark was still there - his first seven overs were all maidens, and he closed with the mighty impressive figures of 4-4.
But young Jordan wasn't to be outdone and nipped in to steal the man-of-the-match award with four wickets as the Bottle sank for 61.
And there were wins for Sacriston and Annfield Plain, the latter inspired by Indian professional Anoop Pai, who made his first century for Plain, and also picked up four wickets.
