Work to begin on Haydon Bridge crossing
Work is set to begin on a new ã1.2m railway crossing.
Network Rail is replacing the barriers at the level crossing in Haydon Bridge, near Hexham, in Northumberland.
Temporary barriers will be put up and two crossing attendants will be on hand to guide pedestrians across the tracks.
The project will start on January 10 and be ready on January 26.
Area general manager Warrick Dent said: "I am asking everyone who uses this crossing to bear with us while we complete these essential works.
"Level crossings are safe if used correctly and the operation of this crossing will remain the same once the work is completed."
The B6319 will be closed at the crossing over the weekends with other road closures during the week.
