Closure date announced for Hexham Woolworths
The Woolworths store in Hexham will close on December 30, it has been announced.
Shops in Alnwick and Morpeth will close on the same day, three days after the Berwick store opens for the last time. The company's shops in Ashington and Blyth will be among the last the shut on January 5.
Administrators confirmed last week that all Woolworths stores would close, at the likely cost of 27,000 jobs, after failing to secure a buyer for the business as a going concern.
