Peace talk to open second series of Hexham debates
A Hexham church will play host to a series of debates featuring nationally-recognised speakers.
Bruce Kent, veteran peace campaigner, will give the opening talk in the second series of The Hexham Debates on Saturday November 22 at 11am in St Mary's Church centre in Hencotes, Hexham.
Mr Kent, vice-president of CND and of The Movement for the Abolition of War, will take discuss the theme of building a culture of peace. Admission is free.
He will also launch a book of the texts of the talks given in the first series of The Hexham Debates. The book will be available at the talk and from Cogito Books, St Mary's Chare, Hexham, for ã6.
Organiser, Caroline Westgate, said: "We are delighted to welcome Bruce to open the second series of the The Hexham Debates.
"His is the first of seven talks to be given over the next eight months by a range of nationally-known speakers. We hope to repeat the success of the first series, which attracted large audiences."
