Thriller debuts in Hexham
An award-winning play with a challenging theme is set to make its debut in Hexham.
Frozen, a play which has been likened to TV shows such as Silent Witness, portrays the emotional fallout that surrounds the actions of a child murderer and rapist, as well as exploring how and why such terrible deeds come about.
Director Sonia Fraser, who is a practising psychotherapist, said: "Anyone with an interest in psychology will find Frozen a fascinating evening, as it draws on neurological and psychiatric research to consider society's moral and emotional responses to the issues involved.
"The warm-hearted mother, Nancy, is struggling to find peace by setting up a meeting with her daughter's killer, the disturbed and dangerous Ralph, while New York forensic psychiatrist Agnetha reveals the secrets that lie within the Arctic frozen sea that is the criminal brain."
The TV adaptation of the play won the Central Television Award, adding to the Best New Play Award it received when it ran at the National Theatre in London.
Frozen runs on October 10 at 7.30pm and tickets cost £10 for adults, £8 for concessions and £5 for students.
